Rock sensation DAUGHTRY tackles the struggle for humanity’s essence in a world dominated by artificial intelligence (AI) in the thrilling music video for their new single, “Artificial.”
Returning with their first original material in over two years, the band, now signed with Big Machine Records, ushers in a new sonic era. Frontman Chris Daughtry takes center stage as he confronts a menacing cyborg clone in a backdrop of urban decay and falling embers. This ambitious project presents a cautionary tale of a world overrun by AI, a storyline that resonates particularly as artist unions push for equitable compensation and safeguards against AI-related challenges.
DAUGHTRY’s latest single, “Artificial,” delves into the potential dystopian scenario that could arise from the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). Frontman Chris Daughtry elucidates that the song explores the notion of a world where AI could replace everything and everyone to the point of perfection, rendering them obsolete. Nevertheless, he emphasizes that the essential aspects of humanity, such as the capacity to experience emotions like love, sadness, and empathy, cannot be replicated or supplanted. While acknowledging the beneficial applications of AI in various creative realms, Daughtry underscores the necessity of safeguarding artists, performers, writers, and other creative spheres from the potential destructive impact of AI.
“I’m immensely proud of this music video,” Daughtry adds. “The dedication and hard work that went into bringing this vision to life is truly remarkable, and it stands as my personal favorite accomplishment in my career.”
The release coincides with the kickoff of DAUGHTRY’s “Bare Bones” tour, an extraordinary acoustic journey featuring 26 new U.S. dates scheduled for the fall season. Accompanied by Ayron Jones, a rocker who has topped Billboard charts, the tour promises an intimate showcase of the artists’ exceptional musical versatility and vocal prowess.
Fresh off the triumph of their rendition of the JOURNEY classic “Separate Ways (World’s Apart),” featuring Lzzy Hale, DAUGHTRY continues to soar. The revitalized version achieved an impressive debut at No. 1 on iTunes’ All Genres chart and secured the sixth spot on Mediabase’s Active Rock chart. With its authentic essence and a contemporary edge, the track has garnered millions of streams across platforms, earning accolades from prominent voices like Variety, Billboard, Consequence, and American Songwriter, among others.
DAUGHTRY, a prominent and highly successful rock band in the 21st century, has achieved sold-out performances around the world.
