AAA: HIGH NUMBER OF TRAVELERS PREDICTED FOR THANKSGIVING

One organization is predicting that Thanksgiving holiday travel next week will see the highest volume in more than a dozen years. AAA New Mexico is projecting more than four million Mountain Region residents will travel more than 50 miles from home over the travel period, which is defined as Wednesday, November 21st through Sunday, November 25th. This would represent a 4.9 percent increase over last year’s numbers and the most since 2005. For those planning a Thanksgiving road trip- be warned: AAA is predicting travel times in the most congested cities could be as much as four times the length of a normal trip.
